Where seniority was known (65,193 people, 90.4%), 58.2% were owners or partners and 21.0% were C-level executives, so almost four in five sat at the top of their company. Vice presidents and directors made up 12.4%, and managers 8.5%. The engagers came from 443 industries; software development was the largest at 17.2%, followed by technology, information and internet at 10.3%. Scored against traxy's own ideal customer profile, 3.8% were rated qualified or priority leads. These numbers describe the audience around the posts traxy tracks, not LinkedIn as a whole.

Senior people dominate this audience: owners, partners and C-level executives together account for 79.2% of the people whose seniority is known. Two things explain part of this. The posts traxy tracks come mostly from B2B founders and creators, plus companies and people in the sales and go-to-market software market, and their audiences lean toward founders and executives. And the seniority data only has categories from manager up, so individual contributors are likely to sit in the 9.6% with no known seniority rather than in the table.

For B2B sellers, the practical point is that comments and reactions on posts in a B2B niche often come from people who can make or influence a buying decision. Our guide to LinkedIn engagement signals covers how to read them.

The ten largest industries account for 59.0% of everyone captured, and the rest is spread across 433 other industries. Software and internet companies lead, and marketing and advertising services together make up 9.1%, which fits the sales and marketing topics of the posts traxy tracks. Posts on B2B sales and marketing topics still drew people from a wide range of industries, which is why filtering engagers against an ideal customer profile matters.

How Many Engagers Fit an ICP?

traxy scores every person it captures against an ideal customer profile and sorts them into tiers. For traxy's own workspace, scored against traxy's own ICP:

Data as of November 6, 2026.

Together, 2,744 people, or 3.8%, were rated qualified or priority: about 1 in 26. Of the rest, 96.1% were placed in traxy's nurture tier and 0.1% were rated unqualified. The exact ratio depends on how narrow the ICP is and which posts are tracked, so your own rate will differ. The lesson travels: most people who engage with B2B posts are not buyers for a given product, even when the audience is senior, and the few who are need to be found. Our engagement to pipeline guide covers what to do with them.

What This Means for B2B Teams

  1. Engagement in a B2B niche reaches senior people. Most of the people in this dataset with a known seniority were owners, partners or C-level executives.

  2. Industry spread is wide. Together, the posts traxy tracks drew people from 443 industries, so count engaged accounts that fit your market, not total engagement.

  3. Few engagers are buyers. 3.8% met traxy's ICP. Score engagers before you spend time on outreach.

  4. Track the right posts. The audience you capture depends on whose posts you track. Our guide on who to track on LinkedIn for leads explains how to choose.

Methodology

  • Population: every person traxy's own workspace had captured as of November 6, 2026 from activity on the LinkedIn posts it monitors: reactions, comments, reposts and, in some cases, the posts' authors. This includes posts by traxy's team and by the founders, creators and companies traxy tracks for its own market. 72,152 people in total.

  • Seniority and industry come from the profile and company data traxy holds for each person. Seniority was known for 65,193 people (90.4%). The categories run from entry-level manager to owner or partner; people without one of these categories are counted as seniority not known.

  • Industry uses LinkedIn's industry categories. We report shares of all 72,152 people, including those with no industry recorded.

  • ICP tiers are traxy's own ratings against traxy's own ideal customer profile.

  • Privacy: results are aggregated counts. No person, company or post is identified.

  • Limits: this is the audience around the posts one company tracks, chosen for its own market of B2B sales and marketing. It is not a sample of LinkedIn members, and it over-represents founders, executives, software and marketing. Use it as a reference point for B2B engagement, not as LinkedIn demographics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who engages with B2B posts on LinkedIn?

In traxy's dataset of 72,152 people captured from activity on B2B LinkedIn posts, 58.2% of those with a known seniority were owners or partners and 21.0% were C-level executives. Vice presidents and directors made up 12.4% and managers 8.5%. Software development was the largest industry at 17.2%.

Are LinkedIn engagers decision-makers?

In this dataset, mostly yes: 79.2% of the people with a known seniority were owners, partners or C-level executives. That reflects the founder and creator posts traxy tracks, so audiences around other kinds of posts will look different. Seniority alone doesn't make someone a buyer for your product.

What share of LinkedIn engagers are qualified leads?

In traxy's own workspace, 3.8% of the 72,152 people captured were rated qualified or priority against traxy's ideal customer profile, about 1 in 26. The rate depends on your ICP and on which posts you track.

Which industries engage most with B2B LinkedIn posts?

In this dataset, the largest industries were software development (17.2%), technology, information and internet (10.3%), business consulting and services (7.3%), financial services (6.3%) and marketing services (4.9%). People came from 443 industries in total.

The Bottom Line

The people engaging with B2B posts in a niche are often senior, come from many industries and are mostly not buyers for any one product. That combination is why tracking who engages matters more than counting engagement. traxy tracks the people engaging with your posts, your competitors' posts and the creators your buyers follow, scores them against your ICP and sends the qualified ones to Slack or your CRM.
