Salesforce Agrees to Buy Braze for $5.66 Billion as the Engagement Stack Consolidates
Salesforce agreed on October 20, 2026 to buy Braze for $47.50 a share in cash, an enterprise value of about $5.66 billion.

Salesforce agreed on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 to acquire Braze, the cross-channel customer engagement platform, for $47.50 per share in cash, an enterprise value of about $5.66 billion, according to Salesforce's Form 8-K. The deal needs approval from Braze shareholders and regulators, and Salesforce expects it to close in its fiscal year 2028.
Braze sends messages across mobile, web, email, SMS and WhatsApp for about 2,770 customers, including Canva, Instacart and Venmo. Its revenue grew 26% to $227.2 million in the quarter ending in July, The Next Web reported. Salesforce plans to combine it with Marketing Cloud and its data and Agentforce tools.
The terms
Price: $47.50 a share, about 58% above Braze's prior close of $30.04. Braze shares rose more than 51% after the announcement.
Break fees: reported at $300 million payable by Salesforce if regulators block the deal, and about $191 million payable by Braze if it takes a better offer.
Advisors: J.P. Morgan for Salesforce, Qatalyst Partners for Braze.
Why it matters
This is Salesforce's second large engagement deal of the autumn, after it closed the $3.6 billion Fin acquisition in September. It is also building Hunter, its outbound sales agent. Put together, Salesforce wants to hold the data on what customers do and let its agents act on it across every channel.
For Braze customers, expect a long close and questions about the roadmap in the meantime. For sales teams, the more useful question is which signal starts the conversation.
Braze reacts to what a known user does inside your own app or emails. It doesn't see a VP of sales at a target account who has never touched your product but commented on a competitor's LinkedIn post this week. In traxy's view, the more channels sit inside one suite, the more it matters who spots that earlier interest first, because every team on the same suite gets the same in-app triggers at the same time. Our guide to B2B buying signals in the dark funnel covers where that happens.
traxy detects which buyers engage with your LinkedIn content, qualifies them against your ICP automatically, and delivers them to Slack or your CRM while the attention is still warm. Start with a 7-day free trial.
