Otter.ai Raises $320M Without Selling Equity and Plans to Triple Sales and Marketing Spend
Otter.ai announced $320M in growth financing from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund on October 20, 2026, aimed at doubling its enterprise business.

Otter.ai, the AI meeting notes company, announced on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 that it raised $320 million in growth financing from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund. Several outlets, including SiliconANGLE and The Next Web, describe the money as non-dilutive, meaning it comes from a fund that finances customer acquisition instead of buying shares.
Otter says it has more than 40 million users, up from 25 million a year earlier, and that teams at more than 86% of Fortune 500 companies use it. Sales teams were among its earliest adopters. Its previous funding totaled about $50 million, per PitchBook, with the last round in 2021, so this financing is more than six times everything it had raised before.
Where the money goes
Goal: at least double the enterprise business within a year, per SiliconANGLE.
How: triple the sales and marketing budget and build out a sales team.
Markets: push harder outside the US. The US is its largest market, followed by Canada, Britain and India.
Why it matters
General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund lends against predictable revenue so a company can spend more on acquiring customers without giving up equity. The structure only works when the payback on sales and marketing is measurable, so Otter is betting it can turn spend into enterprise accounts at a known rate. Tripling the budget in one year is a large bet on that rate holding as it moves into bigger accounts and new countries.
For revenue teams, meeting notes keep getting more central to the sales record. Calls, transcripts and follow-ups increasingly flow into the CRM automatically. In traxy's view, that record starts at the first meeting, and the earlier signal is who engaged before anyone booked a call, such as a buyer who commented on a rep's post. A LinkedIn engagement signal captures that moment, before the first meeting exists.
traxy detects which buyers engage with your LinkedIn content, qualifies them against your ICP automatically, and delivers them to Slack or your CRM while the attention is still warm. Start with a 7-day free trial.
