LinkedIn's October 2026 Marketing API release, version 202610, lets partners see which job functions inside a target account are engaging with their ads and content. The change is listed on LinkedIn's Recent Marketing API Changes page and follows the September release, which added a seniority filter to the same endpoint.

What changed

The Company Intelligence API's accountIntelligence finder now accepts an optional jobFunction filter with eight buckets: IT, product, sales, marketing, operations, finance, HR and other. The limits matter for anyone building on it.

  • Only one of campaign, campaign group, objective, seniority or job function can be passed per request, so seniority and function can't be combined in one call.

  • The filter works only with the 90-day lookback window.

  • It covers member-attributable paid and organic engagement. Paid qualified leads, conversions and cost per qualified lead aren't broken down by function.

The same release adds a metadata field on the Creatives API that returns a creative's ad format, headline, intro text, landing page and asset URL in one call, plus new boost endpoints for member and Company Page posts. Version 202511 will be sunset on November 16, 2026.

Why it matters

Knowing that a target company engaged has never told a rep who inside it is paying attention. A spike from the finance team means something different from a spike among IT staff. With seniority in September and function in October, LinkedIn's own reporting is moving from "which companies" toward "which part of the buying group."

It still stops short of names. The data comes back in buckets over 90 days, and the filters can't be stacked, so "VP-level people in sales at this account" needs separate calls. Reps act on people, such as the head of RevOps who commented on a post or the CFO who viewed a founder's profile twice. Person-level engagement signals show who those people are.
