Its existing verification tools have already verified 115 million users and more than 700,000 companies, according to VP of Product Oscar Rodriguez. Vouching is not an endorsement. It confirms that someone held the experience they claim, not whether they were good at it. Members can vouch for colleagues and classmates, past or present, with guardrails: the person vouching must have a verified profile, must have been connected to the other member for at least a year, and must use two-factor authentication. The company-side change matters more for sales. Page admins can now remove accounts that falsely claim employment from their page and its associated search results, a feature previously piloted with recruiters and executives. LinkedIn is also testing a setting that would require workplace verification, such as a work email, before a member can associate with a page. Removed members keep their profile, but lose the clickable link to the company and their experience no longer displays as verified. Rodriguez told TechCrunch that LinkedIn believes authenticity will be "the single most valuable currency on the internet." There is a reach incentive for members too: verified members average 50% more post views and 90% more impressions than non-verified profiles. ## Why it matters for anyone qualifying leads on LinkedIn Qualifying engagement against an ICP rests on one assumption: that "VP of Sales at Acme" is true. Inflated titles and fake employees break that assumption quietly, making a post look like it reached a target account when it didn't.
